Our Story
Hallam & Walker was born from lived experience, not theory.
For more than four decades, I experienced the criminal justice system from the inside. I know what addiction can take from a person, a family, and a community. I've seen men walk out of jail with nowhere to go, no support, and little hope. Too often, they are treated as a bed to fill or a number to process instead of a person capable of rebuilding a meaningful life.
My own journey has been marked by loss. I lost my sister to addiction. Not long afterward, my mother passed away. Before she died, she looked at me and asked me to be good. She told me she loved me and asked me not to drink anymore. I made her that promise.
Today, I have more than three years of sobriety, and every year that anniversary reminds me of the promise I made to my mother. I intend to keep it for the rest of my life.
Hallam & Walker exists because I believe recovery requires more than a roof over someone's head. It requires structure, accountability, dignity, and someone who genuinely cares whether you succeed. Every resident deserves to be known by name, challenged to grow, and supported as he builds a life he can be proud of.
Our goal isn't simply to provide sober living. It's to help men rebuild character, restore purpose, strengthen leadership, and break the cycle of addiction and recidivism. I know change is possible because I've lived it. That belief is the foundation of everything we do at Hallam & Walker.
